What teaches us the parable of the pearl

In Mathew 13:45-46, we learn about the parable of the pearl.

In this parable, Jesus likened the kingdom of heaven with a pearl of great price. The story is about a merchant looking for beautiful pearls and when he found the most expensive pearl, he sold all his possessions and bought it. The merchant looking for beautiful pearls recalls man's attempt to find the meaning of life. At first, he is looking for material joys, but in the process, he understands that these joys cannot quench his thirst for the soul, because these joys are temporary and perishable. When someone discovers God and begins a relationship with Him, then this person discovers the most precious pearl. Life acquires meaning as God's love fills the person with inexhaustible satisfaction based on the foundations of truth, eternity, and wisdom.

Such a discovery requires to be born again with Christ in order to receive the ability to forgive. The ability to forgive removes our negative burden and heals our soul. Man experiences a new beginning with Christ and learns from the Son of God the laws of love that allow the Triune God (Father Son and Holy Spirit) to dwell in him. This relationship with God is the most precious pearl in our lives. The man then feels gratitude and devotes his body and soul to God, like the merchant who sold all his possessions to buy this particular pearl. Then begins an eternal cooperation with God, which allows man to realize great works and become an eternal inhabitant of the kingdom of God.
