Anyone who seeks solace from God has realized that temporary goods lead to addiction and misery. Addiction to material pleasures increases pride and leads man to exploitation. This means that the person will take advantage of his neighbor but at the same time will become a victim of exploitation. Pride is contagious and makes one justify injustice and moral decay. The person who receives God's consolation learns that God raises the humble and offers them true joy. The person learns to hope in God's promise. A hope based on spiritual power and on an eternal friendship with the Lord. The person learns to cooperate with God, and that is how human life acquires meaning. People's choices are based on personal weaknesses, which is why God's help is necessary for mankind. Christ's teachings describe the consolation that God offers. Christ as the Son of God teaches us gratitude and spiritual strength. The greatest battle that man gives is against his wrong desires. A battle from which we emerge victorious when we trust the teachings of Christ, as Jesus is the consolation that God offers to man.
