Trusting God in times of trouble

In Psalm 18:3 we read “I called to the Lord, who is worthy of praise and I have been saved from my enemies.” The first thing we have to understand is that our trust in God is revealed during difficult times. Trust means that we walk into the unknown, knowing that God is leading us. This allows man to come to terms with the harsh reality he is experiencing and to surrender to God completely. God knows our hearts but waits for us to surrender to Him body and soul, without any resistance. This means that we move forward in life with courage without fighting God's will. God is the only writer and we are His creations. This means that outside of God's written history, man cannot exist. This reminds us of the limited perception we have of things but also the need to walk with faith and trust in Him who has absolute control. Every difficulty then becomes an opportunity for spiritual development. Many times we may not understand the events of the story, this happens because only God knows the beginning and the end of the story. That is why in Apocalypse 1:8 we read, “I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.” Trust in God means to trust and surrender to God's will. This is what Christ teaches us in Matthew 26:39 "My Father if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will." When we stop fighting God and instead establish a relationship with Him, then we overcome spiritual isolation as fear ceases to torment our soul. God then feeds us with the proper wisdom and strength we need to face any difficulty.
